Improved Employment Outcomes for Foster Youth Act of 2017 (H.R.2060)
Introduced by Rep. David G. Reichert, [R-WA-8] on 4/06/2017 and referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means
Summary: A “qualified foster care transition youth” is any individual who is certified by the designated local agency as: (1) not having attained age 27 as of the hiring date, and (2) as having been in foster care after attaining the age specified in provisions of the Social Security Act related to the John H. Chafee Foster Care Independence Program (currently 16 years of age).
Military Spouse Hiring Act (H.R.2318)
Introduced by Rep. Carol Shea-Porter[D-NH-1] on 5/03/2017 and referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means
Summary: A “qualified military spouse” is any individual who is certified by the designated local agency as being (as of the hiring date) a spouse of a member of the Armed Forces.
Investing in Older Americans Act of 2016 (H.R.4973)
Introduced by Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman [D-NJ-12] 4/15/2016 and referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means
Summary: A qualified older long-term unemployment recipient is an individual who is certified by the designated local agency as: being at least 55 years of age on the hiring date, and
qualified as a long-term unemployment recipient under current law by being unemployed for at least 27 consecutive weeks and receiving state or federal unemployment compensation during that period.
In addition, there have also been murmurings about student-loan related credits , and potential for it to also be a target group for employers.
