As we are still waiting on news of WOTC renewal, this is a general reminder to CMS customers using the Work Opportunity Tax Credit Administration service.
If you are using CMS’s WOTC administration services please continue to have all your new hires complete the WOTC paperwork, either online through your secure portal web link, or via the 1-800 Call Center, or via mail within 28 days of their start date as normal.
Despite the federal tax credit’s expiration on 12/31/2014, we expect the WOTC program will be renewed again in the near future.
WOTC Applications must be processed within 28 Days of the new hire’s start date in order to be considered qualified for the tax credit.
Again, please continue to process as normal so you do not lose out on your potential tax credits when the program is renewed. State agencies continue to accept applications and processing as normal. Certifications and/or denials will be released when the program is renewed. CMS will keep you informed of any updates as we receive them.
