CMS’s Brian Kelly answers your questions about the Work Opportunity Tax Credit.
Today’s WOTC Wednesday question: Can I Still Get WOTC Tax Credit for an Employee If They Only Worked for Two Weeks?
CMS Responds: Can I still get tax credits if my employee only works two weeks? It doesn’t really matter how many weeks somebody works. It’s actually based on how many hours they work, and their gross wages. Under the WOTC formula, there’s a ‘magic’ number that is 120 hours. So the employee needs to work a minimum of 120 hours for you as an employer to receive 25% of the employees gross wages up to the first $6,000.
