Congressman Ted Poe, R-Texas, has introduced legislation H.R. 2133 Veterans Back to Work Act of 2013.. The Act is intended to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and make permanent the work opportunity tax credit for veterans and to allow an exemption from an employer’s employment taxes in an amount equivalent to the value of such credit in the case of veterans.
This bill was assigned to a congressional committee on May 23, 2013, which will consider it before possibly sending it on to the House or Senate as a whole.
