At CMS, as Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) experts and service providers since 1997, we receive a lot of questions via our website’s chat box that we try to answer:
Can the WOTC be applicable for part-time employees? Those working less than 25 hours per week?
CMS Says: Yes absolutely! Eligibility for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit does not require you to hire only full time employees, you can certainly hire people who work in part time roles. One thing to be aware of is that it may take a part time employee slightly longer to reach the 120 or 400 hours required in order to use your certification.
